Ambassador of Greece to Egypt meets with Suez Canal Authority Head
A meeting was held between Admiral Osama Rabie, Head of Suez Canal Authority and Mr. Nikolaos Papageorgiou, Ambassador of Greece to the Arab Republic of Egypt to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and mutual coordination, in Ismailia Governorate. This visit marks the first official visit of Ambassador of Greece to Suez Canal Authority since assuming his role.
Admiral Osama Rabie’s team expressed pride in the longstanding historical relations that bring Egypt and Greece together, both at public and official level. They emphasized that the Authority has invested in the proximity of Egyptians and Greeks by opening new areas of cooperation and creating more opportunities for success and integration through the exchange of experiences and technology transfer.
Following this, the head of the Authority reviewed updates on the collaboration between Suez Canal Authority and the Greek company Antipollution, member of V Group of Companies, for the collection and management of waste from ships passing through the canal. This collaboration (Antipollution Egypt) is seen as a promising model for Egyptian-Greek cooperation in marine services according to the latest international environmental standards.
On his part, Ambassador of Greece to the Arab Republic of Egypt emphasized the depth of the strategic relations between the two countries. He expressed pride in the unprecedented closeness achieved in bilateral relations in recent years, wishing success in the joint efforts to achieve mutual relations at all levels.
