Chairman Vyron Vasileiadis meets with Enaleia’s founder
In a significant milestone for marine conservation and sustainable fisheries, Chairman Vyron Vasileiadis, renowned for his commitment to environmental causes, recently met with Enaleia’s founder, Lefteris Arapakis.
Enaleia, a Greek non-profit organization, has been making waves in the world of sustainable fishing practices, aiming to address the urgent need for marine preservation. The meeting marks a significant step towards a collaborative approach to safeguarding our oceans and promoting sustainable fishing practices, taking into account the step of Enaleia to Egypt and of course potential cooperation with Antipollution Egypt.
Enaleia, founded in 2017 is a pioneering organization that has been working tirelessly to educate and empower the next generation of fishermen, fostering a culture of sustainable fishing practices in Greece. The organization offers a unique and innovative vocational program that equips young people with the skills and knowledge needed to become environmentally conscious fishermen.
Enaleia’s initiative is grounded in the belief that sustainable fishing is not only essential for safeguarding marine ecosystems but also for ensuring the livelihoods of coastal communities that depend on the sea. By training future generations of fishermen to adopt sustainable methods and reduce the impact of overfishing and pollution, Enaleia is working towards a more sustainable and prosperous future for Greece’s coastal regions.
One of the key outcomes of their meeting was the commitment to collaborating on educational programs that would raise awareness among Greek fishermen about sustainable fishing practices and the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. Chairman Vasileiadis emphasized the need for government and non-profit organizations to work together to create a comprehensive approach to marine conservation.
