Commencement of operations for Antipollution Egypt: Meeting in Ismaelia, Egypt
Admiral Osama Rabie, Head of Suez Canal Authority (SCA) welcomed Mr. Vyron Vasileiadis, Chairman of V Group of Companies and Mr. Eric Adam to discuss the operational procedures of Antipollution Egypt.
The meeting took place at the SCA Headquarters in Ismailia.
The coordination meeting aimed to finalize the operational procedures of Antipollution Egypt. The company is established by Suez Canal Authority, V Group of Companies and Mr. Eric Adam, a Greek-Egyptian Entrepreneur.
The purpose of Antipollution Egypt is the provision of waste collection and management services to all vessels crossing the Canal in accordance with the latest international environmental standards.
Admiral Rabie emphasized that Suez Canal Authority has ensured all the necessary facilities for the success of this giant endeavor. This effort is part of the Suez Canal Authority’s broader initiatives to improve navigational services for transiting vessels, aligning with its commitment to empower environmentally friendly activities. These endeavors contribute to achieving the ambitious plan of declaring the Suez Canal the “Green Canal” by the year 2030.
Admiral Rabie clarified that the joint operational committee of the Suez Canal Authority and the Greek company has made substantial progress in preparing the project, ensuring it aligns with the latest international environmental standards.
Mr. Vyron Vasileiadis, Chairman of V Group of Companies expressed his gratitude for the fruitful cooperation with Suez Canal Authority. He highlighted the productive efforts made during the last months to establish common ground and agree on the agenda. Mr. Vasileiadis assured that the Greek company has taken all necessary measures to ensure the success of the project, providing the required technical expertise based on its vast operational experience.
